Comment:
We were chosen as Architects through the nationwide competition of the architectural design. This project designed by the consortium among Nobutaka Ashihara Associates, Akira Yamashita Associates from Boston and the local architect Prisco, Duffy & Associates was the center of the urban renewal projects in City of Aurora, the suburb of Chicago, IL. There were three basic components of the projects, that are town clerical offices, town government facilities and the civic center for citizen. Architect interfaced these functions using the public plaza and the atrium space. The overall design was well related to the old townscape consisting of a theater and neighborhood stores, also naturally related to the adjacent water front of the Fox River.
