Located atop a gently sloping six acre site in a suburban corporate park, this 20,000 square foot facility serves as the regional headquarters and research center for a large international chemical company.
The one-story, masonry-clad structure has a tri-partite division of offices, pharmaceutical and food research laboratories, and a skylit central gallery. The generous central space contains a range of activities from reception to product display to employee amenities. Visitors and consultants regularly observe the laboratory operations and sample the food additives and dietary supplements that are being researched and developed for consumer use, so a dramatic central space was considered an appropriate solution.
