The site of this hotel located at the northeast corner of Lexington Avenue and 48th Street is quite unique in its the relationship to the Park Avenue and Grand Central Station from the view point of Manhattan townscape. The mirror glass façade of the building reflects the surrounding classic old buildings blending the building into its surroundings despite the very contemporary character of the building.
The large authentic looking clock placed at the corner of the two streets, high above the building reinforces the design being strongly oriented toward the corner.
